Drummoyne Art & Quilt Show: 1-3 August

The president of the Rotary Club of Drummoyne invites you to attend the 31st Art & Quilt Show.

Official Opening: Friday 1st August, 6pm.
Cost: $15 on the opening night which includes drinks and light refreshments.
Saturday and Sunday - 2 and 3 August
Venue: Canada Bay Civic Centre, corner Lyons Road and Marlborough Street Drummoyne.

Stack & Whack Throw Workshop: 2 August

Stack & Whack Throw is the next Guild workshop at Epping Creative Centre of Saturday, 2 August (9.30am - 4pm). In this workshop you will learn techniques and skills that allow you to cut and piece a Throw, size 56 in by 76 in. Discussion on how to cut your pattern pieces so that the designs on your fabric will provide optimum visual impact. Your tutor will be Ann Perry.

Ann Perry holds Accredited Teacher status with the Quilters’ Guild of NSW and has been involved with patchwork and quilting since 1999. Ann likes designing her own quilts, particularly tessellation patterns (possible workshop next year) and is continually looking to expand the boundaries of her professional practice. The library is available to all Guild members. Three books may be borrowed at one time (three magazines counts as one book) The Guild pays the outward postage and the member pays the return postage. Books may be kept for one month, the due date is shown in the pocket at the front of the book. Please ensure that books are returned on time and in good condition. When borrowing books by mail, fax, phone or e-mail please give at least six titles so we can be sure of filling your request. Australia Wide Exihibition @ Gilgandra: 2 - 30 July

The AUSTRALIA WIDE exhibition showcases the talents of the members of the OzQuilt Network Inc and demonstrates the scope and variety of art quiltmaking in Australia. For the purposes of the exhibition, a quilt is defined as “...a stitched, layered textile…” so that the makers could use the techniques and materials of their choice.

The travelling exhibition of 40cm quilts will be on display at the
Cooee Heritage Centre, Newell Highway, Gilgandra from 2-30 July.
