Powerhouse Museum talk - Rococo fashion: 11 June @ 12.30pm

After you have attended the awards ceremony at the Sydney Quilt Show on Wednesday morning, you might like to pop over the Powerhouse Museum for an illustrated talk:

Wednesday 11 June, 12.30pm
Rococo fashion - the silver brocade open robe
in the Powerhouse collection
with Louise Mitchell, former Curator of Decorative Arts and Design
(Free with museum admission, no bookings required)

To complement the exhibition Silver: Paul de Lamerie from the Cahn Collection, the Museum is currently displaying a spectacular open robe of silver brocade from the permanent collection. Made in about 1760, the gown can tell us much about fashion in the 1700s. Hear costume Curator, Louise Mitchell tell the story of Rococo fashion with specific reference to the Museum's most spectacular gown.

These talks are part of the Powerhouse Museum Adult Learning Program 2008. For full program go to http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/whatson and follow the link 'Talks After Noon', Wednesday talks and Sunday talks
