Pop Up Sewing Day: UNSW Randwick Campus: 21 October 2015
Join
students and staff from the UNSW Design Department for this exciting day of creativity.
Mel
Wimborne, UNSW Design Coordinator, will be demonstrating the use of the Design
Department’s new laser cutter. She is an avid quilter and has been cutting her
own digital cutting templates for use in quilt making.
With our help, Mel will also be introducing UNSW students to the art of patchwork
and quilting, so we need lots of keen sewers there to get the students
interested. We’re hoping to start a whole new quilting revolution at UNSW.
The
theme will be “recycled” so if you can, please bring in any sewing or items you
may have using recycled fabrics.
Four
new sewing machines will be available for use on the day* (or BYO machine.)
Hand sewers are also welcome. Morning tea will be provided by UNSW and there
are numerous food outlets on campus for lunch.
For this particular sewing day there is no limit on numbers - the more Guild members the merrier! But please call the Guild office on 9283 3737
to reserve your place. Any queries please call Robyn Shipton 0412 314
754
* If you would like to use one of the sewing machines provided, please let the office know when phoning to book.
